“I remember the next morning, my wife waking me to say that it was bad and me saying no it missed us and her shoving me awake saying over and over, “no, it’s bad, wake up, it’s really bad.” Coming awake I saw a sight which shocked me to silence and tears. The memory of it still does. I saw New Orleans, the city I was born and raised in, only I didn’t recognize it. I struggled to focus on this underwater nightmare of loss and desperation as my hometown.

Environmental groups say Bobby Jindal opposes lawsuit against oil and gas companies because of industry political contributions ~Mark Schleifstein
~At a New Orleans news conference, environmental groups presented a list of 231 contributions to Jindal state election campaigns between 2003 and 2013 by oil and gas companies and executives that total $1,019,777.
The Jindal administration has criticized a lawsuit filed by the East Bank levee authority against 97 oil, gas and pipeline companies.

Environmental groups respond to the SLFPA-E Lawsuit

Last month the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-East (SLFPA-E) filed a lawsuit against 97 oil, gas and pipeline companies to hold them responsible for the damage these companies have done to the state's coastal wetlands. Since the SLFPA-E filed the suit, Governor Jindal has attacked the commissioners.
