Saints linebacker Vilma's suit against Goodell a long shot says legal expert

Why Jonathan Vilma May Have a Case After All Against Roger Goodell, NFL ~Gary Davenport

Whodat Social Club
~Still, these guys seem to be missing something. This thing has gotten huge. If the suit proceeds to discovery, there’s risk on both sides of all sorts of things coming out. The NFL is staring its ultimate nightmare in the face: Congressional oversight. If Vilma wins his lawsuit, or even plausibly demonstrates that Goodell and the NFL are out of control, DC could step in—and once they do, everything is fair game

Slow push to list breach sites among federal icons ~Kevin McGill~Sites where levee failures led to the catastrophic flooding after Hurricane Katrina would join Civil War battlefields and Mount Rushmore on a federal list of the nation's historic icons if an activist has her way, but legal foot-dragging by the agency that many blame for the flooding is slowing the effort. "It was an event so catastrophic the whole world watched it on TV," Sandy Rosenthal said this week as she walked beside a repaired floodwall along the Lower 9th Ward, which was devastated in the storm's aftermath in 2005. "It's the worst civil engineering disaster in U.S. history."
