New Orleans murders have different pattern~According to a report released Friday by the U.S Bureau of Justice Assistance, the city’s murder rate is 10 times higher than the national average — at least four times more than cities of comparable size. The study, one of several requested by Mayor Mitch Landrieu and Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas, also found that murder in New Orleans follows a pattern different from other cities, one that makes it harder for police to tackle.
