The surprise oyster: over half of New Orleans is above sea level!
~Sandy Rosenthal · Top Commenter · Founder and Executive Director at Levees.Org
Yummy article, but the opening line is erroneous. Half of New Orleans is at or well above sea level including the historic neighborhoods of Carrollton, River Bend, Audubon/University, Uptown, Garden District, Irish Channel, French Quarter, Treme, and many many more.
Source It's often the things outside the point of an article that people pick up and notice. So it's important that misleading details are corrected immediately before they are repeated.
