Anarchy on the Louisiana coast as furious leaders defy BP and Coast Guard
~AudubonMagazine.org

~The president of Saint Bernard Parish, a buff bald man whose domain lies east of New Orleans, spoke next.
“The lesson learned by Katrina, Rita, and later, Gustav and Ike, is if we wait, we will die,”
he said. “I don’t have a crystal ball, but if I were a betting man I’d bet the plan was to let us die, then come back and do $75 million worth of cleanup.”
“Either the Coast Guard has to side with its American citizens and protect its communities,” he continued, “or it has to side with a major world corporation named BP and betray American citizens.”

Please help counter BP News PR!
~This from a badly misinformed columnists at NJ.com (which also owns Nola.com btw): "As I noted in prior posts, a bit of balance on the part of the media would do wonders. Yes, it's bad to have thousands of barrels of oil loose in the Gulf."
~Editilla Notellas~ We adjusted our rage against the machine with this one because this author has turned out to be one of those rare gems who actually work the comments section of his posts. (The way Harry Shearer used to do at Huff Post before the Merit Badgers took over. Harry's still there but it isn't as often and the Badgers seem to be the ones moderating his comments. I swear it feels like a freaking Facebook Glory Hole Scout Jamboree). Anywayz, I'd jumped the gun on including him with the lying fuck'wit BP PR Mouthpieces that are showing up all over the country in the News Media downplaying this disaster.

Fake BP Twitter Account Draws Followers With Oil-Spill Satire
~A Twitter user with an account dubbed BPGlobalPR is posting satirical entries about the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico — and already has more than twice as many followers as BP America’s actual account. With posts such as “The good news: Mermaids are real. The bad news: They are now extinct. #bpcares,” the stream of tweets from the account is long on dark humor and subtle outrage at BP’s actions.
